I have this game on my library but I can't download it. It was not like this before.

Tried on website and it worked but I can't download and play it on itch client.

hey, I make videos about cute games and saw that your game was part of the steam shmup fest. Would it be possible to interview you for my youtube channel?

(+1)

This game is better than "dead cells"

(1 edit)

If you're actually serious, thank you!

(1 edit) (+1)

yes, i am seriously

I looks really nice and simple. I tried it on windows11 and it hangs. Once it hangs the only way to fix it is to close and restart the game :/

(1 edit)

Strange, I haven't encountered this problem yet and I've been using Windows 11 for almost two years.  Have you noticed any specific pattern before/when this occurs?  For instance, leveling up or going to a new room or anything like that?

muito bom

What the heck this is freaking amazing!  Its like Smash TV but with a great cute premise and the shooting and response is excellent.

Its got a deep upgrade and continue structure involving investing in card upgrades and matching them up with a clever memory game that makes the upgrade system itself fun and strategic which means in a given run there is chance but also substantial strategy to the upgrades you choose to get but also you can always grind and save up to invest in a run this makes it never feel unfair.

The crystals system also makes each run feel positive even if you don't get very far since it is always progress.  But you can also gamble on a run and invest in it and then theres more pressure if you lose but it was completely up to you.  The game never takes from you unfairly and that is a huge factor to how much fun this is as an experience.  Its a rewarding and excellent system that more games should adopt something similar anyway.

The feel of just scooting around and turning with the right stick is crisp and satisfying to do.  I think one of the excellent details is how they did the sprite aim rotation.  It is beautiful and clever and fools the eyes.

There is a cool story to get you into what you are doing here and to make you want to take down the bosses, but also exploring this place is fun in and of itself.  I started at 9pm and at 1am I was still playing and would have literally run it again right then if I hadn't needed sleep so bad.

Add into all of this: its got co op too!  It is better than Smash TV tbh because of its much more fair difficulty curve and more interesting enemies.

For modifiers you can play with limitations such as only using crystals you picked up on this run or without using any crystals at all, or using powerups in a particular order (see Dave the Knave's strategy guide in the comment below) or switching playable characters since they play (shoot) totally different, or you can change control schemes to keyboard and mouse.

P.S. the soundtrack is great too.  Its clear they had legit great musicians composing and recording this and it never got old.  Anyway this is a masterpiece.  Thank you!

Amazing review, thanks for the high praise!  Let us know if/when you beat it!

(+1)

You are welcome!  also ... I beat it!  1,229,785!  I also tried warping ahead and I'm glad you can but then you really have to use some of your coins because otherwise ... I got destroyed.  It was like a drive-by fruiting (Mrs. Doubtfire reference and fruit pun right there)

:)

Hi, thanks Phase Pixel for donating Resistance if Fruitile to the racial justice bundle back in 2020. I've been slowly making my way through the games and found this hidden gem. I got a bit carried away and made a strategy guide along with the review. Was fun mapping out the optimal power-card upgrade path and the hordes of fruit at the end of this game is straight bonkers.

Wow, this is awesome!  Thanks for your effort, and we've very pleased that you enjoyed playing RiF!  Btw we just released a content update that introduced several new enemies and completely changes the final realm, so please do check that out if you haven't already!

Just downloaded the most recent version, but it still says 1.4 beta. Is that just an oversight or do I have the wrong version?

That seems to just be an oversight, I'll fix it.

Thanks!

Can we get a steam code?

Is this game considered finish? Gonna download it rn.

(+1)

Yes, it's finished!  Let us know what you think!

This game was a very pleasant surprise. I had no idea what to expect but it's a lot of fun, the fruit theme is charming, and the card-based ability unlocks work well. Enjoying it.

I'm very picky when it comes to twin-stick shooters but this one was fantastic. It handles well and the fruit designs are so cute... I actually felt bad shooting them a few times

(+4)

This game really nails everything that it tries to do- sound design, controls, upgrades, animations and effects are all glorious and add up to a great-feeling game that is just fun to play at a base level. My only real complaints are that it is pretty short and easy, though if I had a friend to play it with that would probably add a lot to the replayability and the already-abundant chaos (in a good way)

(+3)

I decided the play the game due to the punny titled, and stayed for the fun gameplay! Fairly simple concept but you guys executed it so well! I've just managed to make it past the 3rd boss, excited to see if I can make it to the end :D

(+1)

Thanks a bunch for your kind words!  Definitely post a screenshot of your score for us when you beat the game!

(+3)

Fun game, just wished you tracked my highscore.

(+1)

Thanks, we appreciate your feedback!  A scoreboard / leaderboard is definitely something we'll be looking into implementing in the future, stay tuned!

Any plans for a Linux release? :D

I don't mean to pressure or anything, just wanted to let you know that I'm another voice interested in a native build. My experience with Unity games is that Linux builds are usually functional from first attempt (unless you rely on low level calls for platform exclusive features like DirectX/Metal or external binaries)

Also you have the same Steam link in the "more information" tab twice.

(+2)

Thanks for your feedback, we just released a Linux build.  Let us know how it runs for you!

(+1)

Oh really? Thank you, I’ve almost given up hope. I’ll try it as soon as I can!

(+1)

Awesome, and apologies for how long it took.  We had to take a break from development last year but we're back on it now.

(+2)

Hey gu3, we just released a Linux build (along with a major update with several gameplay changes and new content), if you've got a chance to try it out, let us know how it runs for you!

(+3)

i think this is the highest score for now :)

(+1)

Awesome!  See if you can get to the end, and if you do, definitely let us know!

(+2)

absolutely

(+3)

im back to my hometown, i dont have access to internet and youtube for a few weeks. at least i can post it here :)

(+3)

Love the art style of the game! It's always nice with a retro style game but still an original idea. The music was also very fitting and I enjoyed playing it a lot! Too bad I wasn't able to try the multiplayer version as I have no friends.

How long did it take for you to make this game? :D

I don't know if you've heard of Game Development World Championship before (gdwc2019) but it's a competition for indie game developers where they can submit their games and it's free! It's great if you want some more visibility for the game and it only takes a couple of minutes to join :)
